Suspect Arrested After a Daring Daytime Residential Burglary
On April 13, 2012, at approximately 3:00 p.m., officers from the Cypress Police Department were dispatched to a residence located in the 8600 block of Watson Street regarding a residential burglary that had just occurred. The victim told officers she observed a male suspect inside of her home and he fled with a laptop that had been in an upstairs bedroom along with a key ring containing keys to her vehicle and residence. The victim was able to provide a detailed description of the suspect as well as a description of his vehicle including its license plate number.
The suspect and vehicle description was broadcast to surrounding police agencies and the suspect vehicle was observed moments later by a La Palma police officer. The vehicle was surveilled by officers for approximately one hour before the suspect returned to the vehicle. Kris Do Young Shin (10-26-80) was arrested for residential burglary and possession of stolen property. A search of the suspect’s vehicle revealed the stolen laptop and keys from the earlier burglary as well as additional property that is believed to be stolen.
