Active weather, including severe thunderstorms, likely over the weekend
As an initial heads-up, the SPC has placed the entire region under a risk of Severe Thunderstorm for Saturday into early Sunday morning. Timing and specific impacts are hard to narrow down at this point, however a risk of large hail, damaging winds and even a few tornadoes will increase during the day Saturday and perhaps continue overnight into Sunday. This system will also bring much needed rainfall, possibly as much as 2-3 inches for a large part of the area (with locally higher amounts).

We will begin more specific briefing materials either late tomorrow or early Friday.
