City Curbside Bulky Item Collection
Residents of the City of Smithville have the opportunity to discard large and bulky items at curbside. The contract with Jim’s Disposal Service includes two (2) curbside bulky item pick-ups each year. The first one has been scheduled for the week of April 30th thru May 3rd.
The curbside bulky item pick-up will occur on residents’ usual trash collection day. Up to five (5) items from each household will be accepted. Items such as appliances (washers, dryers, refrigerators and freezers with the compressors and freon removed), televisions, furniture ( couches, tables, chairs, beds), sinks, toilets, cabinets, rugs and carpet (cut up and rolled into 4 ft lengths) and doors. All items must be properly stacked and bundled for collection.
Items that CANNOT be accepted include: tires, construction materials, tanks, drums, railroad ties or household hazardous waste.
Residents can also schedule additional bulky item pick-ups with Jim’s Disposal by calling 816-221-1932. The cost of a scheduled pick-up is $10.00 per item.
