Media Release
April 27, 2012
On Saturday April 14, 2012, the Community Park on Frederick Road in Thurmont was vandalized. It was discovered that during the overnight hours of Friday thru Saturday morning subjects spray painted various areas of the park and spread trash throughout the trees and pavilions. Due to scheduled use of the park on Saturday, Thurmont Public Works employees were called in to quickly clean the park and make it presentable for the day. This expense has been added to the cost of the destruction of property and the investigation is continuing. The Thurmont Police Department encourages anyone with information regarding this vandalism to contact Cpl. Murray or OFC Testa of the Thurmont Police Department.
