Reminder-Pinal County Burn Ban starts 5/1
On May 1st, 2012, Pinal County will ban all outdoor open fires within the county.
The no burn restrictions include:
1. Monitoring or forecasting indicates that carbon monoxide or particulate matter is likely to be exceeded in Area A & a High Pollution Advisory is declared.
2. Chimneas, fire pits, and similar outdoor fires even with a valid permit.
3. During a no-burn period, residential wood burning devices are not allowed to operate within Area A unless:
-The wood burning device is the sole source of heat or fuel for cooking
-Performance standards for residential wood heaters has been meet
-Is a stove or fireplace that burns gaseous fuels
Stove/fireplace conforms to rules adopted by the BOS
4. Advisory issued by the National Weather Service
5. Periods of visibility impairment that may impact a Class 1 Wilderness Area
6. Periods of extreme fire danger or when smoke is blown into populated areas
7. Air pollution emergency episode is declared

Outdoor open fires are always prohibited with in the City of Maricopa.
