Deputies from the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department, Risk Management Bureau’s Traffic Services Detail conducted a DUI/DL Checkpoint on Friday, April 27, 2012 as part of the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department commitment to public safety.
This checkpoint was one of many that have been or will be conducted throughout the year in Pico Rivera. The location of Friday’s checkpoint was on Rosemead Boulevard, south of Mines Avenue.
The goal of the DUI/DL Checkpoint was removing impaired drivers and to bring awareness to the public of the dangers of driving under the influence of drugs and alcohol.
The results were:
853 Vehicles through the Checkpoint
853 Drivers Checked at the Checkpoint
4 DUI – Alcohol Suspects Arrested
1 DUI Bench Warrant Suspect Arrested
1 Drunk in Public Suspect Arrested
1 Illegal Possession of Marijuana Suspect Arrested
3 Knowingly Allow a Person to Drive a Vehicle without a Valid License Suspects Arrested
4 Suspended Drivers were Arrested and Sent to Court
16 Unlicensed Drivers were Arrested and Sent to Court
3 Vehicles Impounded for 30 Days
13 Vehicles were released to the Registered Owners per Checkpoint Release Procedures.
This checkpoint was funded by a grant from the California Office of Traffic Safety, through the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration.
