Marina del Rey Deputies arrest an armed parolee
On April 26, 2012, two Marina del Rey Deputies conducted a traffic stop in the area of La Tijera Blvd and 59th St, which subsequently resulted in the suspect, who was armed, being sprayed with OC spray and tased before fleeing the scene. A containment was established using Marina del Rey, South L.A. Station Deputies, The Sheriff’s Department Air Support Unit and K-9 Units. The suspect was eventually located and bitten by and apprehension dog. A handgun was recovered at the scene. It was later learned that the suspect was a parolee at large. The detection and quick arrest of armed persons by Marina del Rey station personnel prevents violent crime.
