Los Angeles: A traffic collision in the San Fernando Valley resulted in the death of a 21-year old woman. 
On Monday, May 14, 2012, at 0625 hours, a three party fatal traffic collision occurred on De Soto Avenue, just south of the 118 Ronald Reagan Freeway. Brandi Todd, 21 years old and a resident of Simi Valley, was traveling at a high rate of speed, lost control, and collided with the rear end of a Frito Lay commercial truck, driven by Gerson Sarmiento, 38 years old, a resident of Winnetka. The force of the collision caused Brandi’s 2007 Scion TC to spin counter clockwise into the south bound lanes of De Soto Avenue.
Bonnie Anderson, 63 years old, a resident of Canyon Country, was driving southbound on De Soto Avenue in her 2002 GMC Envoy when her car collided with the Scion. Both drivers of the Scion and Envoy were transported to local hospitals by LAFD personnel. Brandi Todd died as a result of the injuries sustained in the collision.
Valley Traffic Investigators are searching for additional witnesses who may have observed this traffic collision. It was alleged that another similar type car to Brandi Todd’s car may have been driving at a high rate of speed at the time just prior to the collision as well. There is no further description of the second car that was possibly involved.
