WOODWAY YOUTH COMMISSION TO PRESENT TEXAS POLICE CHIEFS ASSOCIATION FOUNDATION WITH GIFT
On Monday, May 21, 2012, the Woodway Youth Commission will present a check in the amount of thirteen thousand dollars ($13,000.00) to the Texas Police Chiefs Association Foundation (TPCAF) at the City Council meeting beginning at 5:30 p.m. The check will be presented to TPCAF President, Chief Barbara Childress, with the Richland Hills Police Department along with Texas Police Chiefs Association (TPCA) Secretary Chief Gary Johnson with the Roanoke Police Department.
This gift was raised from the first annual Bound for the Brave 5K run and 1K fun run through the beautiful city of Woodway. The Woodway Youth Commission, along with the Waco Striders Running Club, sponsored the event in an effort to promote healthy living and show support for local law enforcement families.
The Texas Police Chiefs Association Foundation oversees the prestigious Texas Police Chiefs state accreditation and provides a death benefit to any Texas police officer who makes the ultimate sacrifice and loses their life in the line of duty. The proceeds from this race will be donated through the Texas Police Chiefs Association Foundation to families that have lost a loved one in the line of duty.
