05-20-12, at approximately 8:25PM, AEPD officers were dispatched to an alarm activation at Avondale Baptist Church on Covington Road.
Upon arrival and initial investigation, officers detected that a rear window had been damaged which had activated the alarm, causing unknown persons to flee the scene.
A possible witness observed three subjects fleeing the area at the time of the alarm, running across the field behind the American Legion towards Southern Pines Apartments.
Description of subjects is as follows:
(3) young black males, all being tall and of slender build, age group estimated as 17-20 years of age.
In the last week, the immediate area has had criminal activity which is believed to be centered around a particular individual or group of individuals.
