On Monday, May 21, 2012 from 6:00 to 9:00 a.m. Valley Traffic Division Traffic Enforcement officers will be conducting Traffic enforcement to discourage aggressive and inattentive driving in Constructions Zone.
Where: Coldwater Canyon Avenue, south of Ventura Boulevard
As part of the Valley Traffic Division’s continuous efforts to promote and improve traffic safety, members of Valley Traffic Division’s Community Traffic Service Unit (CTSU), will conduct an enforcement operation to enforce traffic violations committed by commuters during the second phase of the Los Angeles Department of Water and Power’s (LADWP) Trunk Line Construction Project. The site is LADWP’s Trunk Line Project that will replace an aging trunk line that was built in 1914 and continue through March 2013.
This operation will be conducted in an effort to promote traffic safety and reduce traffic related incidents that could cause injury to LADWP personnel during their work hours. Traffic enforcement officers will enforce the laws typically associated with aggressive driving and inattentive driving. Officers will enforce violations that violate speed laws, following too closely, erratic or unsafe driving, failure to obey traffic control devices and distracted driving.
“Laws and highly visible traffic enforcement by our officers save lives and can significantly reduce dangerous driver habits,” said Captain Ivan Minsal, Commanding Officer of Valley Traffic Division. “We realize that construction is a big contributor to traffic congestion in this area…I ask our motoring public to have patience as we proceed to improve the City’s infrastructure. Working together, we will create a safer environment for the surrounding community, those who use our roadways and for LADWP personnel who are improving the City’s infrastructure.”
