Today new laws go into effect pertaining to responsible dog ownership. Starting today, an unprovoked dog bite can result in serious repercussions and restrictions for the dog’s owner.
Under the new law a dog that bites another person will automatically classified as a “dangerous dog”. Such a classification will result in special licensing, micro chipping, and liability insurance requirements. In addition the owner of such dogs is required to keep the dog in a locked fenced enclosure.
The new law also impacts pet owners who allow their dogs to run at large (off of their own property). Three or more convictions of a dog running at large can result in the dangerous dog classification being applied to your pet.
