Update: Second of Two Suspects Arrested
The second of two suspects police have been seeking relating to an investigation initiated in early April, 2012, was apprehended today in the Muskegon Heights area.
The original investigation, conducted by Fruitport Township Police Department, involved the theft of items from unlocked vehicles inside an unlocked garage in the 2800 block of E. Ellis in Fruitport Township.
Fruitport Township Police Department coordinated their investigation with Walker Police Department where offenders fraudulently used a credit card stolen from the Fruitport incident.
Images of suspects captured on store surveillance cameras were circulated in an effort to identify the suspects, one male and one female. Multiple tips and further investigation assisted in identifying the suspects.
The female suspect was arrested in the Muskegon area on May 3, 2012. Police had still been seeking the male suspect until today.
On 05/22/2012, investigators from the Michigan State Police Fugitive Task Force located and arrested the male suspect in the Muskegon Heights area. The male suspect had multiple outstanding warrants, including one from the State of Alabama.
