An update on the National Take Back Initiative that occurred on April 28, 2012 throughout the State of Michigan
Thank you so much for your part in helping make the fourth National Take Back Initiative a success! Due to everyone's efforts, over
10,300 pounds of prescription drugs were turned over to law enforcement personnel at 205 sites, including Plymouth Township Police Department and throughout the State of
Michigan. A total of 552,161 pounds—276 tons—was collected nationwide (more information and a full press release is
available at www.dea.gov). We believe that this event helped raise awareness and reduce the risk of prescription drug abuse
both at the local level and nationwide.
Thanks again to all that participated.
