The Sumpter Police is currently investigating a home invasion / sexual assault. The incident occurred at approximately 200am hours on 06-03-12. Entry was made via knocking on the door. Upon the victim opening the door they were assaulted and knocked unconscious. Please be alert to late night unannounced visitors, use yard lights to eliminate your surroundings, and look out a window to see whom may be outside. Do not hesitate to call the police in the event you are not sure who is outside your door.
