In the last week, unidentified person/s have entered unlocked cars in the neighborhood or 300 Gilpin. The person/s stole a GPS, wallet and change. The opportunists committed their crimes between the hours of 11 PM and 7 AM. We have received some information that two white males may have been checking car doors at approximately 3:30 AM. If you see this kind of activity, it requires a rapid police response.

A good way to prevent this type of crime from occurring is to keep your belongings out of view in your car. The best way to prevent thefts from vehicles is to lock your doors when you leave your car unattended. This is a crime of opportunity that will likely not occur if your doors are locked.
