Fruitport Township Police Department has arrested a 28-year-old male subject from Fruitport for larceny.
Police were called to Beach Elementary School, 2741 Heights Ravenna Road, at approximately 7:30 p.m. on 06/06/2012. Two children, ages 12 and 14, were playing on the playground when the 14-year-old discovered his wallet was missing.
The two children started looking for the wallet. They talked to the adult male subject who initially denied any knowledge of the wallet but then returned the wallet.
The owner immediately recognized the wallet and checked the contents to discover cash from the wallet was missing. Police were called to the scene and recovered cash from the adult in the exact amount and denominations described as missing by the victim.
The male subject was placed under arrest and lodged at the Muskegon County Jail.
No further information, including the name of the suspect, is being released by police at this time. All persons are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
