Giles County Sheriff's Department TN bust meth lab and arrest pregnant woman and 2 others
Friday June 8, 2012 Giles County Sheriff’s Deputies responded to a call of a man wondering around in some ones yard. Upon arrival Corporal Brandon Tarpley and Deputy Matt King came in contact with nineteen year old Seth Ryan Foster of Mt Pleasant. Deputies believed Foster was under the influence of drugs. Upon further investigation it was learned that Foster had came from another residence nearby. Deputies went to that residence and after talking to twenty seven year old Chrysty Dawn Jackson of Rose Hill Rd Pulaski they learned another male was in the residence that was later identified as thirty one year old Richard Brandon Jackson of Rose Hill Rd Pulaski. When Corporal Tarpley stepped onto the front porch he immediately detected an odor he recognized as the same odor that a methamphetamine odor would produce.
After further investigation and talking with the Jacksons it was learned that they were under the influence of methamphetamine and had probably recently manufactured the drug. Lt. Jim Storey, Investigator Michael Thomason, Deputy Scott Nations and Chief Deputy Tommy Chapman also responded to the scene. Deputy Nations and Chief Chapman dressed in protective hazardous materials clothing entered the residence and removed several items of evidence and ingredients used to manufacture methamphetamine and also recovered some finished drugs. The Giles County Office of Emergency Managements hazardous chemicals decontamination team also responded to the scene.
Deputies talked with Chrysty Jackson and it was noted she was six months pregnant and had recently used the drug methamphetamine. All 3 were arrested and transported to the Giles County Jail. Chrysty Jackson was charged with aggravated child abuse and neglect, Intent to manufacture methamphetamine, possession for resale methamphetamine, possession of drug paraphernalia and an unrelated charge of violation of probation for a previous drug related charge. Her bond was set at $121,000 for today’s charges but has a HOLD without bond on the violation of probation charge. Seth Foster and Richard Jackson were charged with Intent to manufacture methamphetamine; possession for resale methamphetamine, possession of drug paraphernalia and each have a bond of $101,000 and remain in the Giles County Jail.
Sheriff Helton said his officers know there are others in the county manufacturing methamphetamines and/or other illicit drugs for sale or use and are aggressively working to make cases and obtain warrants on these individuals in the near future.
