Leander G. Morris was taken into custody by the Spindale Police Department on 26 June 2012. Morris was wanted on multiple outstanding misdemeanor and felony warrants. Morris was located at the Super 8 motel on Reservation Drive in Spindale. Officers responded to the location and attempted to take Morris into custody. A short foot chase and altercation ensued when Morris was confronted by Officers and a Taser was eventually employed to gain his compliance. Morris remains in custody under a $31,000 bond. Spindale Officers were assisted in the capture by Officers from the Rutherford County Sheriff's Office and the NC Highway Patrol.
