Mohawk Police arrested 19 year old Michael R. Atwood of Herkimer after an investigation following a foot pursuit early Tuesday morning 6/19/12. In the hours following the foot pursuit Police received calls from residents regarding property stolen from their vehicles overnight. Investigation led to the discovery of Atwood's involvement as well as possibly three other individuals. Atwood was charged with 2 counts of Criminal Possession of Stolen Property in the Fourth Degree and two counts of Grand Larceny in the Fourth Degree. All charges are class E felonies. Further investigation into the other three individuals involved is ongoing. Atwood was remanded to the HCCF in lieu of $1000 cash or $3000 secured bond.
