HIGH PRESSURE BUILDING IN THE MID LEVELS OF THE ATMOSPHERE ACROSS THE MIDWEST WILL BRING HOT TEMPERATURES TO NORTHERN ILLINOIS AND NORTHWEST INDIANA THURSDAY. HIGH TEMPERATURES OF 100 TO 105 DEGREES ARE EXPECTED...WITH A FEW UPPER 90S POSSIBLE NEAR LAKE MICHIGAN IN FAR NORTHEAST ILLINOIS.

* TEMPERATURE...FORECAST HIGHS RANGE FROM 100 TO NEAR 105 DEGREES. MODERATE HUMIDITY LEVELS WILL KEEP PEAK HEAT INDEX READINGS IN THE 105 TO 110 DEGREE RANGE.
* IMPACTS...PROLONGED EXPOSURE TO THIS HEAT CAN BE DANGEROUS IF THE PROPER PRECAUTIONS ARE NOT TAKEN. SUNSTROKE...HEAT CRAMPS OR HEAT EXHAUSTION IS POSSIBLE WITH PROLONGED EXPOSURE AND PHYSICAL ACTIVITY.
