PRESS RELEASE: METH LAB DISCOVERY-415 S. DETROIT STREET
On Saturday, June 30th, at 3:40 p.m., Warsaw Police were involved in an investigation which resulted in the discovery of a Meth lab and the arrest of two adults. Warsaw detectives received information that a subject wanted on a warrant was at a home at 415 S. Detroit Street. Upon arrival, police discovered four persons in the home. All four were involved in the manufacturing of Methamphetamine, with a “One Pot” container and precursors used to manufacture in the room they were in.
When Police announced their presence, One subject, CHARLES R. DOVE, 28 years old of Warsaw, fled out of a window and was captured. A second subject, JASON L. SHEPHERD, 33, ran into another room in the home and was placed under arrest. Inside that room, a package of finished Methamphetamine was found. Items associated with the production of Methamphetamine were found in the home, including Lye, Coleman fuel, Lithium batteries, scales, and other items.
An Indiana State Police Meth Lab clean up team was dispatched to clean the home of the hazardous chemicals associated with the manufacturing of Methamphetamine.
Additionally, stolen items were recovered in the home associated with a theft and a burglary that occurred in Warsaw earlier in the week.
Dove and Shepherd were charged with Manufacturing, Dealing and Possession of Methamphetamine within a thousand feet of a school or park, both Class A felonies, as well as Possession of Meth Precursors within a thousand feet of a school or park, class C felonies. Additionally, Dove had an outstanding warrant for Theft. Both subjects were booked into the Kosciusko County Jail and held with No Bond.
Two other subjects were detained at the time, and charges will be forwarded to the Kosciusko County prosecutor’s office upon further investigation. Warsaw detectives continue to investigate this matter and expect additional charges for both Dove and Shepherd associated with the recovered stolen property.
