The Gurnee police department is currently investigating eight vehicle burglaries that occurred on the north east side of town.
Residents awoke this morning, July 3rd, 2012, to find vehicles in their driveways burglarized during the overnight hours.
There are elements that are consistent in each case, leading investigating officers to believe this is a series of crimes. As such, we are making this notification.
Loose change and small items were taken from each car. Most importantly, officers determined that in each case, the targeted vehicles were unlocked.
We’d like to remind residents to lock all vehicle doors and to not keep valuable property inside vehicles. Also, please call the police department whenever you see or hear anything your consider to be suspicious in the neighborhood.
