Two Additional Suspects Arrested and Stolen Vehicle Recovered in Hamburg Coney Island Break-in Investigation
Officers from the Hamburg Township Police Department and the Livingston and Washtenaw Narcotics Enforcement Team (LAWNET) spent most of Monday following investigative leads into the early Monday morning break-in of the Hamburg Coney Island located at 9850 Chilson Commons Circle. The investigation culminated in the arrest of two suspects and the recovery of a stolen vehicle.
The Hamburg Township Police Department began looking for the two suspects after they fled on foot from a crash following a short vehicle pursuit by Hamburg Township police officers. The pursuit began after the suspect’s vehicle was observed leaving the scene of a break-in at the Hamburg Coney Island. Officers arrested a 27 year-old Ann Arbor man at the scene of the crash.
The two suspects were believed to have escaped the area in a dark gray 2006 Jeep Commander which had been reported stolen overnight from a residence in the vicinity of the crash.
At approximately 6:00 pm on Monday, officers from the Hamburg Township Police Department and LAWNET located the stolen Jeep Commander parked in an apartment complex in Ypsilanti. A short time later, a 28 year-old male resident of Whitmore Lake and 29 year-old female resident of Whitmore Lake were taken into custody at a nearby apartment in connection with the break-in.
All three suspects are being lodged at the Livingston County Jail pending formal charges.
