Columbia Township Police investigates a comercial motor vehicle crash on Palmer Rd near Wolf Lake Rd.

On July 27th, 2012 at 7:07am Officer Rick Rodden of the Columbia Township Police Department was dispatched to a property damage accident near the intersection of Palmer and Wolf Lake Rd. The vehicle involved in this incident was a Seiler Tank Truck Service tanker truck. The vehicle had gone into the ditch and rolled onto its side.

The operator of the tractor trailer was identified has Don M. Lueker, 56 of Cement City. Lueker was traveling southbound on Palmer Rd. North of Wolf Lake Rd. As the vehicle was traveling South on Palmer Rd it left the main traveled portion of the roadway. Once the vehicle left the roadway it rolled onto the driver’s side of the vehicle into a ditch on the East side of the road. Lueker suffered no injuries from the crash.

The tractor portion of the vehicle did suffer damage and was not drivable. The tanker trailer which does not haul any type of hazardous or flammable material was empty at the time of the crash. The tractor portion was towed from the scene, and the trailer portion was removed by the owner.

Lueker has two traffic citation pending. Alcohol is not a factor in this accident. Michigan State Police motor carrier officer did respond and assisted.
