Parks Bureau Personnel Join Altadena Station’s National Night Out Celebration
Members of the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Departments Parks Bureau joined the Altadena Sheriff’s Stations National Night Out Celebration last night (Tuesday, August 7, 2012) at Loma Alta Park (3330 N. Lincoln Drive, Altadena, 91001). The Mounted Enforcement Detail, Off-Road Enforcement Team and North Zone Patrol personnel were on hand to answer questions and join in the festivities. Displays of the Mounted Enforcement Detail’s horses and equipment along with motorcycles, quad runners and an Emergency Operation Trailer used by the Parks Bureau were set up for the hundreds of residents in attendance. Volunteers and Altadena Sheriff’s Station personnel provided food, give-a-ways, games and crime prevention information for the local residents.
This year marks the 29th Anniversary of the National Night Out event which is designed to heighten crime and drug prevention awareness; generate support for, and participation in, local anticrime programs; strengthen neighborhood spirit and police-community partnerships; and send a message to criminals letting them know that neighborhoods are organized and fighting back.
The Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department’s Parks Bureau is dedicated to providing a safe and drug free environment at all Los Angeles County Parks.
