A major water leak is affecting water service in the southern most portions of the City of Smithville. Crews are working now to restore water service to Forrest Oaks, Woods Corner and Barton Heights subdivisions. A boil advisory will be issued for the affected areas. As of 8:30 am, Water Superintendent Lemley had found and uncovered the problem. He is working on replacing the split pipe now. He anticipates the repair being completed by noon or before. The boil advisory for the affected areas will remain in effect until further notice.
