Drug arrest, crack cocaine, methamphetamine and marijuana
On august 4, 2012 Sheriff’s Narcotics Investigator Michael Thomason, Deputy Scott Nations, Chief Deputy Tommy Chapman, Corrections Lieutenant Lenny Norman had information of someone that was going to deliver contraband to the Giles County Jail. The officers set up surveillance and later witnessed Jacob Kory Evans, 22 year old from Pulaski jump from a car near the secure area of the Jail. Evans ran up to one of the windows on a male housing unit at the jail to deliver narcotics and tobacco. Officers arrested Evans outside the housing unit and stopped the vehicle that he jumped out of. The vehicle was driven Ashley Lopicollo of Pulaski and her three year old son was in the rear seat.
Charges against Jacob Kory Evans are Criminal Conspiracy to Introduction of Contraband into a Penal Facility, Unlawful Drug Paraphernalia, Simple Possession/Casual Exchange, Criminal Trespass, and Contraband in Penal Institution. He remains in the Giles County Jail with a bond of $18,000
Inmates inside the jail had made arrangements to have marijuana and tobacco delivered to the jail and they had somehow made a hole in the glass to receive the illegal items. The inmates involved were:
Shamus Omar Birdsong Jr. 33 yrs old, Derrick Lane Harwell 28 yrs old, Kenneth Lane Bugg 26 yrs of all of Pulaski they were all charged with Criminal Conspiracy to Introduction of Contraband into a Penal Facility.
Other charges are expected to be filed soon and the case is still under investigation.
On August 10, 2012 Giles County Sheriff’s Deputy Larry Gulley and Sergeant Chad Braden were assisting DCS at the residence of 33 yrs old Katrina Marie Frost and noticed an odor associated with the manufacture of methamphetamine and noticed some products used in that process at the residence. Narcotics investigator Michael Thomason was called and after Frost gave the officers consent to search she was subsequently arrested for promotion of methamphetamine manufacture, simple possession of methamphetamine, and unlawful drug paraphernalia. She remains in the Giles County Jail with a bond of $7,000
On August 13, 2012 Giles County Sheriff’s Narcotics Investigator and Deputy Scott Nations were looking to serve a Capias on Christina Boone 24 yrs old of Pulaski and 27 yr old Michael Seth Harris of Pulaski. The pair pulled into the H and P Fuel Max on College Street. While Thomason and Nations observed David Jarrod Kimbrough 32 yrs old of Pulaski got in the car occupied by Boone and Harris and the officers observed a drug deal take place. Upon further investigation the officers found 5 grams of crack cocaine and cash. Also arrested was Jason Maynard Hansbrough 35 yrs old of Muncie, IN. all four were charged with possession of crack cocaine for resale and bond was set at $2000,000 each all remain in the Giles County Jail. Boone and Harris were also charged on a Capias with selling oxycodone and at one of those sales were in a drug free zone and Harris has an additions $20,000 bond and Boone an additional $10,000 dollar bond.
