Update: Chatham Hills Subdivision Larecnies From Auto (LFAs')
Farmington Public Safety Officers spent the morning checking all vehicles parked in the Chatham Hills Subdivision (Grand River Ave/Halsted). In total, it appears that 21 vehicles were attacked. Each attacked vehicle was left unlocked. Numerous items of value were taken including purses, GPS systems, a laptop computer, golf clubs, a tent and loose change. Currently, there are no suspects.
One witness reported seeing an African American male, approximately 20 years old with a slender build walking in the area at approximately midnight. The witness thought this was suspicious, but did not report this to the public safety department.
Another witness advised that he heard his dogs barking at approximately 12:30 AM to 1:00 AM. This was out of the ordinary according to the witness.
Farmington Public Safety Officers encourage all residents to report any suspicious persons, vehicles or situations in your neighborhoods to the public safety department IMMEDIATELY. Trust your instincts, if something doesn't feel right, it's probably not.
Lastly, please take note that all of the vehicles attacked were left unlocked. Please lock you car doors and remove valuables when parking overnight.
