While riding on the bow of a boat in Marina del Rey Harbor yesterday (08-14-2012), a man fell overboard and was struck by the vessel's propeller. Friends on the boat pulled the victim from the water, and transported him to the Sheriff’s dock, where Marine Patrol Deputies along with Paramedics from LACO Fire treated the victim for non-life threatening injuries. A boating accident investigation is being conducted by LASD Marina del Rey Station. .
Boaters must remember to ride safely inside of your boat when it is underway. Whenever you are out on the water, don't forget that lifejackets save lives!
