PRESS RELEASE: Burglary Arrest "The Underground"
On Saturday, September 1, 2012, at approximately 5:05 a.m., Warsaw Police responded to The Underground at 3865 Lake City Highway in Warsaw after receiving a report that the glass front door was broken out. Upon arriving, officers were met by the business owner and did not locate anyone inside. The business owner and officers reviewed the surveillance video and recognized the perpetrators as those involved in a traffic stop earlier in the night by Warsaw Police. In that stop, Warsaw Police identified three (3) occupants of a black 1997 Pontiac Grand Prix. An attempt to locate the Pontiac was placed in Kosciusko and Fulton Counties since the occupants were from the Akron and Rochester areas. A Fulton County Deputy stopped the vehicle and detained two (2) juvenile suspects. Indiana State Police located the third adult suspect at his residence in Akron and took him into custody. Daniel W. Kitch, 19 years of age, of 6746 E. 250 S. Akron was booked into the Kosciusko County Jail on charges of Burglary with Forcible Entry, a Class C felony. The two (2) juveniles, both 17 years of age, were released to parents and charges of Burglary will be forwarded to the Kosciusko County Probation Department. At this time, it does not appear that anything was taken from the business. Damage to the door is estimated at $300.00.
