METH LAB AT WARSAW MOTEL
Warsaw Police drug officers were involved in a Methamphetamine lab and arrest at the Economy Inn on Lake City Highway, Sunday, September 9th. Warsaw Police were called to the Economy Inn , after receiving information from an outside source that a Meth Lab was involved in one of the rooms. Upon arrival, Investigators found two subjects inside a motel room, in the process of manufacturing Methamphetamine . Additionally, Precursors and items associated with the manufacture, sale and possession of the illegal drug was located. Additionally, controlled substances Xanax, Methadone and Oxycontin were located in the room.
Steven DeWayne Stanley, age 42, and Carrie Ann Timmons, age 35, both of Warsaw, were located in the room. Stanley was attempting to hide himself and a “cooking lab” in the bathroom when confronted.
Both were booked into the Kosciusko County Jail Sunday evening for charges of DEALING, DELIVERY AND MANUFACTURING METHAMPHETAMINE, POSSESSION OF CONTROLLED SUBSTANCES, AND POSSESSION OF PRECURSORS used in the manufacturing of Meth, all felonies.
Because of the proximity to a schools, parks, or a public housing apartment complex (Eastgate Apartments) the charges are enhanced, making the potential penalties greater.
Warsaw drug officers continue to take seriously any and all drug information received and will enforce all drug violations to make the city safe. Methamphetamine production is dangerous, and can cause explosions and burns if mishandled. An Indiana State Police Lab Clean Up team was called to clean up the hazardous materials found at the scene.
