Topsfield Police Dept. Press Release

At approximately 3 am on September 11, 2012 members of the Topsfield Police Department stopped a motor vehicle for a traffic violation in the area of High St and Central St. in Topsfield. Inside of the vehicle officers located a large industrial power washer as well as electronic items which included laptops, cell phones and GPS devices. Further investigation revealed that the some of the items recovered were allegedly stolen earlier from motor vehicles at the Holiday Inn in Peabody, Ma.

Arrested were: Joseph Taglieri, age 32, Boston, Ma. and Eugene Colangeli, Age 32, Medford, Ma.
Both subjects were charged with the following:
Possession of Burglarious Tools (Felony)
Receiving Stolen Property over $250. (Felony).

Both subjects were arraigned in the Ipswich District Court at Newburyport and are presently being held on $2,500 cash bail.

The case remains under investigation.
Residents are advised to be alert for suspicious vehicles in your neighborhood. There has been an increase in vehicle breaks and stolen vehicles in our general area. Residents are advised to call the police department to report this activity.
