Drunken Driver Leads Deputies in Pursuit
In the early morning hours of September 9, 2012, Century Station deputies observed a vehicle being driven erratically through the Florence/Firestone District.
The driver of the vehicle had nearly collided with other cars on the road and had committed numerous moving violations. The driver ultimately lost control of his vehicle and collided with a street light pole located at the northwest corner of Florence Avenue and Miramonte Boulevard.
Upon detaining the suspect, deputies noticed a strong odor of alcohol coming from the suspect’s breath and the suspect displayed the objective symptoms of being under the influence of an alcoholic beverage. A female passenger in the vehicle sustained an injury to her left leg.
The suspect was arrested for driving under the influence of alcohol and evading a peace officer.
