In order to meet the demands of the Thurmont Community and provide a safe and secure environment, effective October 1, 2012 through October 31, 2012, the Thurmont Police Department will be conducting a traffic safety initiative targeting drivers who fail to obey Stop Signs and marked Fire Lanes. The goal is to educate, deter and identify operators of vehicles who are found to be in violation. During this time period, no warnings will be issued.
It is the driver’s responsibility to obey all traffic laws – so please drive safely and assist the police department and your community with this very important initiative.
