Hit and Run Traffic Collision on Vanowen Bl and Ranchito Av
On Tuesday, September 17, 2012, at approximately 0700 hours, two 14-year old students were en route to school crossing the intersection of Vanowen Street and Ranchito Avenue along the marked west marked crosswalk. Traveling eastbound Vanowen was a late 80’s early 90’s, 2-door, Chevrolet pick-up truck, faded green, equipped with and iron rack around its bed containing possible gardening tools. The pick-up truck failed to stop for a red tri-light and collided with the two juveniles causing life threatening injuries to one and moderate injuries to the other juvenile. The driver drove from the scene without stopping to identify himself or render aid.
The suspect is described as a male Hispanic, in his 30’s, Oval shaped face with a moustache, wearing a baseball hat
The vehicle is described in its late 80’s or early 90’s 2- door Chevrolet pick-up truck, faded green with a damaged bug reflector and a broken windshield.
