-Good news.
-This week’s mosquito testing in Topsfield indicates no positive results for either EEE or WNV in mosquitoes trapped in any of the multiple locations throughout town.
- However, due to the number of communities in the Commonwealth that have reported positive results for EEE or WNV in recent weeks, risk Levels throughout the State remain at “Moderate” and will most likely remain at that level until the first frost.
-Topsfield Fairgrounds will receive pre-emptive spraying during darkness this weekend. Additional sprayings will be determined by surveillance and weather.
-Residents should continue to be vigilant regarding protection from mosquitoes, especially during the hours between dusk and dawn when mosquitoes are most active.
-Attached please find additional information for parents about protecting their children from mosquito borne illness.
