Last week our city experienced two larcenies on the 700 block of Rivard and an attempted larceny on the 900 block of Rivard. These all occurred on the same night.
The first involved the theft of the wheels on a Ford Edge. The vehicle was in the driveway and possessed an alarm that never activated. Though we have not had any other incidents, Ford Edge wheels have been a popular target of late in other communities.
A second larceny occurred when most likely the same perpetrators entered an unlocked garage down the block and lawn equipment was taken.
The perpetrators also attempted to steal the wheels off a Cadillac Escalade in a rear yard but were foiled by the wheel locks.
Residents are urged to lock their garages, vehicles, and report any suspicious activity to the police.
