South Los Angeles Sheriff's Station is proud to announce that Sergeant Fabiola Barragan was awarded the "Guardian Angel" Award during a ceremony that took place at St. Michael's Parish on Friday September 28, 2012.

Sergeant Barragan received this prestigiuos award as a result of her dedication and hard work toward bettering the lives of the residents of South Los Angeles while assigned as the area's community liaison deputy from 2011-2012.

Father David O'Connell who presided over the ceremony praised Sergeant Barragan as a "role model and leader in the community."

Sergeant Barragan, who is married with two children, is a 12 year veteran of the Sheriff's Department and is currently assigned to the Department's Inmate Reception Center in downtown Los Angeles.

St. Michael's parish located at 1016 West Manchester Avenue, is part of the Archdiocese of Los Angeles
