PRESS RELEASE: WCHS Student arrested on drug charge

This morning, Warsaw Police arrested a seventeen year old Warsaw Community High School student with possession of marijuana after random K9 searches were conducted at both Warsaw Middle Schools. Four (4) K9’s searched both Edgewood Middle School and Lakeview Middle School alerting only on bags located in the industrial arts section of Lakeview Middle School. The owner of those bags was a seventeen (17) year old Warsaw Community High School student attending industrial art classes at Lakeview Middle School. The juvenile male was arrested and released to guardians. He faces pending charges of possession of marijuana with the Kosciusko County Probation Department. Two (2) Warsaw Police K9’s were assisted by K9’s from the Kosciusko County Sheriff’s Department and the Winona Lake Police Department.
Warsaw Police continue to diligently work to reduce the influence of illegal drugs in our community by aggressively pursuing those who possess, use, or sell illegal drugs, like marijuana.
