On Saturday, September 29, 2012, at around 9:00 p.m., Valley Traffic Division Officers were called to investigate a traffic collision that occurred on Victory Boulevard just east of Van Nuys Boulevard in the community of Van Nuys, California.
Burbank resident, 20-year-old Ashot Ovsepyan, was driving a white, 2011 BMW 335i westbound on Victory Boulevard when he struck a pedestrian who was crossing Victory Boulevard at the intersection of Sylmar Avenue.
Witnesses called rescue personnel, however the pedestrian died at the scene of the collision. Mr. Ovsepyan remained at the scene and identified himself to police.
The investigation is continuing to determine the party at fault. The name of the pedestrian will not be released until his family has been notified. No arrests have been made at this time.
