The Port Neches Police Department will host our fifth annual Port Neches National Night Out in Texas. The main event will be a Madnonnie movie “Dolphin Tale”, sponsored by Neches Federal Credit Union and the Port Neches Riverfest Committee which will be held at Port Neches Riverfront Park. In addition to the movie, the Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office will have their helicopter (which will land at approx. 5:30 pm) and a boat on display as well as S.W.A.T. team members will be on hand with a display of items they use. The U.S. Coast Guard will have one of their boats on hand as well as a display of items they use, and the Port Neches Fire Department will have their ladder truck and other equipment on display. We will also have tables set up on the Pavilion and at the waterfront with displays from Academy Sports and Outdoors,who will also have games and prizes for kids, Neighborhood Watch Program, Port Neches Police Dept., Neches Federal Credit Union, T.A.B.C., Texas Parks and Wildlife and Acadian Ambulance Service , to name a few. Also, Walgreens will have a photo booth set up. We will also have a dunking booth again, with a few well known PNGISD employees (including at least one or two football coaches) volunteering to be dunked. McGruff the Crime Dog, the Crash Dummies and “JoJo” from Pizza Inn will also be on hand, as well as some PNG football players. Also, PNG Criminal Justice students and other volunteers will be distributing child I.D. kits, crime safety tips, gun locks and other items for children and adults as well. Several Riverfest “River-Passes” were donated for kids by the PN Riverfest Committee and a drawing will be held just prior to the movie. (you must be present to win)

PN Chamber of Commerce, the Port Neches Riverfest Committee, Ancelet’s, Pizza Inn, Blue Bell Creameries, Dabney Garage Doors, and other local business partners have made donations and/or volunteered to help serve link wraps, popcorn, pizza, soft drinks, bottled water and ice cream cups before and during the movie or as long as supplies last. Huntsman Refinery has donated National Night Out t-shirts to be given away while supplies last. Local music school,Tonalta, has several bands of young musicians who have volunteered their time to perform until the movie starts.

Activities will begin at 5:30 pm with the movie starting at approx. 7:30 pm.
