LPD offers an online crime and incident reporting option for citizens.
The Lubbock Police Department would like to remind our community we currently offer a crime reporting online option for the public. This web based reporting system allows our citizens to file reports for certain incident types over the internet at their convenience.
Types of incidents eligible for online reporting include:
Harassment, Theft, Vandalism, Identity Theft, Vehicle Burglary, Violation of Child Custody Orders, Lost Property, and others.
Vacation watches for homes can also be requested securely and conveniently online.
This service allows a person to easily and conveniently file a report without having to wait for an available patrol officer to respond or call them back. The person filing the online report is able to print a temporary copy at the time they submit the report, having it immediately available for insurance purposes or other needs. Online reports are reviewed by police personnel to ensure all needed details are included and once approved, the filing person will receive an email with a copy of the final report attached at no cost.
Cases reported online are assigned to LPD investigators and follow up investigation proceeds in the same manner and with the same attention as cases in which a police officer takes the report in person.
This web based reporting option allows patrol officers more time to address community needs and actively patrol while also allowing our residents the freedom to make the report at a time that is most convenient for them.
Online reporting is available now at www.lubbockpolice.com. Simply click on the “File Police Report” tab to get started. Instructions and guidelines are available in the reporting tab. A brief, prerecorded instructional message is also available by calling 775-3756. There is no charge for the use of this service.
