FAIRVIEW AVENUE SCHEDULED TO BE CLOSED – between Chapel Hill Road and Johnsburg Road

Construction has begun to install gravity sewer along Fairview Avenue from Chapel Hill Road to Church Street. Beginning October 8th, Fairview Avenue will be closed to thru traffic between Chapel Hill Road and Johnsburg Road. The surrounding streets of Sunnyside Beach, Long, Middle and Stubby will be limited to local traffic only. Thru traffic will be directed to utilize Chapel Hill Road and Johnsburg Road in lieu of Fairview Avenue. Note that McHenry County’s road improvement project is still underway and utility work is expected to be performed on Johnsburg Road east of Chapel Hill Road from October 8th through October 10th. DELAYS ARE EXPECTED therefore travelers are encouraged to utilize alternative routes whenever possible. Residents residing on Fairview Avenue will still be able to travel to and from their homes and have been notified of construction activities. Fairview Avenue is expected to be closed through the beginning of November.
