Due to predicted weather forecasts and other scheduling conflicts, the October MERRAG training (Fire extinguisher training) is cancelled.
REMINDER _ The Great California Shake out will be held NEXT week 10/18 at 10:18 am.
Montecito Fire will play a simulated earthquake scenario on our AM radio station (1610 AM) at 10:18 am, and encourages all residents to practice DROP, COVER and HOLD on during the simulation.
We also recommend that you review your emergency plan with your entire family and check on your emergency supplies at this time as well.
MERRAG Team members and volunteers are requested to respond to Montecito Fire Headquarters (595 San Ysidro Rd.) on October 18, 2012, to participate in Drop, Cover, and Hold on at 10:18 am, then activate for simulated scenarios and response. This is estimated to take approximately 30-45 minutes.
Prior to the event, MERRAG Radio Carriers will be given simulations to report (via radio) for the drill. The purpose of this is to provide MERRAG participants with radio and situation assessment practice.
An After Action Review of the drill will occur at approximately 11:30 AM at Montecito Fire Headquarters.
