Advisory

Home Invasion occurred on Meadowlark St. See NIXLE for additional details.

****Specail Attention to Meadows Subdivision****

On Wednesday October 10, 2012 Farmington public safety officers responded to the 32600 block of Meadowlark St. (Meadows subdivision, north of 8 Mile and east of Farmington Rd.) on a reported home invasion.

The homeowner arrived at the residence at approximately 5:00PM and noticed that the side door of the residence was ajar. The homeowner immediately called 9-1-1. Farmington officers searched the home and found that it had been ransacked. A K-9 tracked a scent to Chesley St (directly south of Meadowlark). It is likely that the suspect parked a car on Chesley and then scaled the fence to the homeowners backyard.

It was determined that the unknown suspect(s) gained entry into the home via the rear patio door which had been left unlocked. It appears that cash was the only thing taken from the home.

Evidence recovered from the scene will be sent to the crime lab for analysis.

This is the second daytime home invasion investigation this week. Farmington detectives are working with area departments to identify suspects. Anyone with information in this case is asked to call Detective Scott Brown at 248-474-5500, ext #2246.

Also a reminder that the monthly Neighborhood Watch meeting will be held tonight at 7PM in the Farmington City Council Chambers. All residents are welcome to attend.
