Palos Heights PD announces arrests/charges in recent residential burglaries.
The Palos Heights PD announces the arrests of two Chicago residents for breaking into three Palos Heights residences within the last month.
Tyrone Hughes, 22, of the 4100 block of South Prairie and Christopher J. Carter, 20, of the 600 block of West Vermont, were both charged with 3 counts of Residential Burglary. Carter was also charged with Aggravated Unlawful Use of a Weapon.
Palos Heights Detectives dveloped information regarding the identity and vehicle of those suspected of being involved in the burglaries. On Tuesday, October 9, 2012, Palos Heights officers observed the defendants driving in a white Ford pick-up truck in the 12200 block of Cheyenne Dr. Officers stopped the truck that was being driven by Carter and viewed a jewlery box in the bed of the truck and several pieces of jewelry on the inside of the vehicle. Carter was armed with a replica 9mm pellet gun in his coat pocket as officers learned that Carter's license was currently suspended. Both defendants were taken into custody and detectives obtained a search warrant for the truck. Numerous proceeds were recovered as well as a loaded nine shot revolver. Some of the proceeds recovered were identified as being taken in burglaries from Frankfort, IL. Both suspects were turned over to Frankfort Police, where additional charges for residential burglary were approved
