Citizen Robberies in Laurel & Severn... Information Sought...
The following citizen robberies have been reported within the last week. At this time, there is no known connection between these incidents. Anyone who has information about these robberies is asked to contact the Western District Detective Unit at 410-222-6155.
SEVERN (October 12th, 2012):
On October 12, 2012, at approximately 3:00 p.m., officers from the Western District responded to the intersection of Disney Road and Ponderosa Drive in Severn for a report of a citizen robbery.
Upon arrival, officers spoke with the 17-year-old male victim, who indicated that he was walking when he was approached from behind and physically assaulted by two male suspects, who forcibly removed his cell phone before running into a waiting vehicle described as a maroon four door sedan that was occupied by a driver. The suspect vehicle then fled the area. Numerous officers along with a K-9 unit and the Aviation unit canvassed the area, but were unable to locate the suspects. The victim was treated for minor injuries at Baltimore Washington Medical Center.
Suspect #1: Black male, approximately 20 years old, 6’1”, 190 pounds with a dark complexion and shoulder length braids, wearing a black hoodie and black pants
Suspect #2: Black male, approximately 20 years old, 5’10”, 150 pounds with short hair, wearing a red hoodie and blue jeans
LAUREL (October 14th, 2012):
On October 14, 2012, at approximately 9:14 p.m., officers from the Western District responded to the area of Yellow Springs South and Wye Mills South in Laurel for a report of a citizen robbery.
Upon arrival, officers spoke with the 19-year-old male victim, who reported that he was walking in the area when he was approached by two unknown male suspects. One suspect displayed a handgun and the suspects proceeded to take the victim’s phone and wallet before fleeing the area. An extensive area search of the area was conducted by Patrol Officers, K-9 and Aviation, but the suspects were not located.
Suspect #1: Male, approximately 6’0" with a thin build, wearing a bright red wind breaker (possibly “North Face”) and a scarf over his face
Suspect #2: Male, approximately 6’3” with a muscular build, wearing a dark blue jacket (possibly “North Face”) with a black scarf over his face
LAUREL (October 15th, 2012):
On October 15, 2012, at approximately 11:13 p.m., officers responded to the area of Route 198 and Russet Green West in Laurel for a robbery of a citizen.
Upon arrival, officers spoke with the 51-year-old male victim, who conveyed that he was accosted by three male suspects. One suspect displayed a handgun and demanded the victim’s property. The other two suspects then took the victim’s wallet and cell phone before fleeing the area on foot towards the community of Russet Green. Officers canvassed the area, but were unable to locate the suspects.
Suspect #1: Black male, approximately 6’3”-6’4”, 185-190 pounds with a medium complexion, wearing a long sleeve white sweatshirt and dark-colored pants
Suspect #2: Black male, approximately 5’8”, wearing a bulky, gray hooded sweatshirt and dark-colored pants
Suspect #3: Black male, approximately 5’8”, wearing a dark-colored hooded sweatshirt and dark-colored pants
