SAFETY TIPS FROM SHERIFF DOUG COX:
* Choose a bright costume that can be easily seen by cars
* Avoid pets while in costume as they may become scared
* Avoid long costume's & high-heeled shoes
* Cross the street at corners, not between cars
* Be sure masks do not obstruct your vision
* Remind children to watch out for traffic
* Adults should check all candy carefully
* Never allow pets to consume candy
* Throw away any unwrapped candy
* Never go into a stranger's home
* Carry a flashlight after dark
