Burglary Suspect Leads Deputies on High Speed Pursuit
On October 24, 2012, a burglary suspect led deputies on a high speed pursuit along the north bound 605 freeway in Pico Rivera. The suspect, 24-year-old Terrance Grissom of Pico Rivera, was apprehended in the city of Montebello after abandoning his vehicle.
The pursuit began when deputies from Pico Rivera Sheriff's Station responded to a burglary in-progress call on the 6400 block of Milna Avenue in Whittier. As the deputies approached the location, they saw a vehicle leaving the area at a high rate of speed. The pursuit was initiated after the suspect entered the north bound 605 freeway. The suspect's vehicle reached speeds in excess of 90 miles per hour before exiting the west bound 60 freeway at the Paramount Boulevard off ramp in Montebello. Shortly after exiting the freeway, the suspect was observed abandoning his vehicle and entering a nearby apartment complex where he was arrested by pursuing deputies. Inside the abandoned vehicle, deputies located several stolen items taken during the burglary. One of the recovered stolen items was a floor safe.
